Alternative Housing: Sweet Peas Hostel

Sweet Peas Hostel is a European style hostel in the middle of downtown Asheville. The Hostel has a fully equipped kitchen, living room with cable, wifi, a computer for guest use, coin laundry and clean bathrooms with hot showers. All options are equipped with individual outlets for electronic devices and free wi-fi is available throughout the hostel. Last year many Lindy Focus participants stayed at Sweet Peas and had such an awesome time, they have already booked for this year!

1. At $28 dollars each a bunk bed is in a room with 8 bunk-style beds each. Sweet Peas offers one co-ed bunk area and one female bunk area. All bunks are equipped with individual outlets for electronic devices and free wi-fi is available throughout the hostel.
2. Pods are special Sweet Peas Creations! A Pod is an extra long twin bed, reminiscent of train car sleepers. Each Pod has shelving, a spacious locker and an acoustic curtain for extra privacy. All pods are equipped with individual outlets for electronic devices and free wi-fi is available throughout the hostel.
3. PRIVATE ROOMS at $60 each (single or double occupancy) -- Small private rooms with extra long double beds. These rooms include a private sink and locking doors.

Dining Options Within the Crowne Plaza

Enjoy delicious meals in a relaxed atmosphere at The Pro's Table restaurant, featuring classic American cuisine with some international twists. The Pro's Table serves breakfast from 6:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., lunch from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., and dinner from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. During dinner you can dine fireside beside massive granite fireplace in the Lower Pro's Table.

Unwind at the end of the day with your favorite beverage in our comfortable and rustic lounge. Mulligan's, open from 2:00 p.m. until 1 a.m. Mulligan's offers full food service and drink specials. Lunch is served in the lounge from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.; dinner is served from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

A full food and beverage menu is available through room service from 6:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. daily.

Once the event gets rolling, people often forget that they want to go out for a fancy New Year's Eve dinner. If this might be you, REMEMBER to make reservations at your restaurant of choice well in advance. Seriously!

As always, the Crowne Plaza has stepped up to the occasion, promising a tasty menu of Scrambled Eggs with Fine Herbs and Cheddar Cheese, Sausage Gravy with Buttermilk Biscuits, Southern-style Grits, Crispy Peppered Bacon, Home Fries, Sliced Fresh Fruit, Assorted Breakfast Pastries, Assorted Juices, and of course Coffee & Tea, to be served at 1am on New Year's.

Air Travel to Asheville

For a quick look at some flight possibilities, check out our recommended deals/fares for getting to Asheville.

The Asheville Regional Airport is served by the commercial carriers Air Tran, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and US Airways with direct flights from cities such as Atlanta, Cincinnati, Orlando, Newark, Houston, New York, and Charlotte. Visit their website: www.flyavl.com.

NOTE: For cheaper flights, people often choose to fly into nearby cities such as Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, Greenville, SC, Knoxville, TN, Raleigh/Durhan, NC, or Greensboro, NC. From there they hitch a ride to Asheville with some dancers from that area. If you're interested in trying that, we suggest (1) visiting the dance forum for one of those cities to find people or (2) connect with people using our travel forum.

The Crowne Plaza will be running a discounted airport shuttle for all Lindy Focus attendees. The cost is $10/person one-way with a $30 minimum per van load. If you want to make use of this shuttle service, you will need to call the hotel at 800-733-3211 and give them your transportation information over the phone. This must be done 48 hours prior to your requested shuttle time.

Travel West on I-26
Follow signs for I-240 to Asheville
Merge into the left lane and take exit 3A
This will merge you onto Patton Ave.

The road will bear right and our entrance will be immediately on the left (before entering Sam's Club parking lot)

From West (Knoxville, TN):
Travel East on I-40
Take exit 46B on the left to merge onto I-240 E/I-26 W toward Asheville
Continue to follow I-240 E for 3.1 miles.
Take exit for 3A on the left to merge onto US-19 S/US-23 S/Patton Ave.
At the 2nd light make a right onto Regent Park Blvd (between Denny's and Pizza Hut)

Travel West on I-40
