(2 hours with Julie and Dan) A common question with regular workshop-takers is how one retains the skills learned in class, and how to continue to grow outside of class. This session is all about developing your own methods of improvement that you can use to improve your dancing on your own!
(2 hours with Mike) What Is Blues? This class will be a discussion of the history, aesthetics, and current state of blues dancing, and what blues really is (and isn't). We will talk about what some of the blues idiom dances are, what some of the families are, what exactly *is* an aesthetic, and then a positive compare-contrast with qualities that separate blues dances from other swing-related genres.
(6 hours with Mike, Dan, and Julie) This is a nearly full-length track created for those blues dancers who want to wholly immerse themselves in the style, and walk out a different dancer than you were when you walked in. (note: this is not "just for masters", it is an in-depth series created to bring you closer to mastering the dance!)
(2 hours with Mike and Dan) One of the most powerful aspects of blues dancing is the act of developing both a creative and technical partnership with the other person. Mike and Dan will help you create the best habits to bring with you to each new partner on the dance floor.
(2 hours with Julie) Whether you're an experienced solo blues dancer or just a studied mover who's ready for a fast-paced challenge, come learn this compelling routine both as a way to further master your own movement, and to perform in front of camp.
(2 hours with Julie and Dan) If you want to embody all the nuance and expression that blues dance has to offer with a partner, there's nothing better you can do than to explore your own movement. Julie and Dan will help you develop the discipline to take control over your movement, and then use repertoire to sculpt that movement to give it meaning.
